ADHERENCE INTELLIGENCE IN PRACTICE
What Is Adherence Intelligence?
How patient signals, likely barriers and coordinated support fit together in medically supervised weight-loss care.
The decision between a signal and an action
A record can show that a visit was missed without explaining why. A patient reply can add context without resolving the next step. The adherence intelligence concept describes the work between those observations and an appropriate response: connect the relevant evidence, identify uncertainty, clarify when needed and route the action to its owner.
In Synarmic’s current commercial approach, this supports a defined first-90-days patient engagement program. The program gives the clinic a structure for planned contact and adaptation. The intelligence capability explains how that structure can respond to different circumstances; it is not a requirement that buyers adopt a new technical vocabulary before understanding the offer.
What belongs in the evidence record
Keep observed events, patient-reported concerns, inferred possibilities and unresolved questions distinct. Include dates and source limitations. A refill gap is an observed record only if the source is reliable; a cost barrier becomes patient-reported when the patient says so. Silence does not confirm either cost or low motivation.
An actionable record also includes the expected care step, permitted next response and accountable owner. If the information is insufficient, the next step may be a clarification or a staff review rather than outreach. The system should make that uncertainty visible instead of forcing every patient into a confident-looking category.
| State | Example |
|---|---|
| Observed | A reliably recorded missed visit |
| Patient-reported | The patient says price is an obstacle |
| Inferred | Access difficulty is a possibility |
| Unknown | No reply explaining the gap |
How it supports the full first 90 days
Before treatment begins, the program can help a patient understand their next step and surface access questions. Around clinic-confirmed milestones, it can offer approved preparation or invite questions. When expected information is missing, it can clarify the gap. Before a review, it can bring the patient’s concerns and available history together.
These are proposed workflow capabilities, not evidence that a complete live program is already implemented. Clinical decisions remain with the clinic. Administrative responses must stay within approved rules, and the team needs a clear route for exceptions. The journey is broader than recovering a missed appointment after it has already happened.

What this layer does not establish
Combining records does not validate a clinical prediction, prove a barrier was resolved or demonstrate incremental revenue. A message sent is not completed care. A task assigned is not a completed handoff, and a handoff acknowledged is not proof that the concern has been addressed.
Pilot evaluation should connect activity to independently defined outcomes: completed care, appropriate continuation, staff effort, patient experience and collected contribution. Readiness, permissions and source access must be verified before live participation. A synthetic demonstration can show the intended interaction, but it cannot establish production reliability or care outcomes.
Practical review checklist
- Start with the care journey. Adherence intelligence is Synarmic’s category for connecting available patient signals, clarifying likely barriers and coordinating timely support. The initial focus is each patient’s first 90 days of medically supervised weight-loss treatment. It is a proposed operating approach, not a validated clinical prediction score.
- Move from evidence to a useful question. A missed care milestone, a patient reply or a gap in expected measurements can prompt review. Check that the data is current before interpreting it. A missing weight entry does not establish a plateau, and a missed appointment does not establish a financial barrier. Ask a relevant question, then use the answer to choose an approved next step.
- Coordinate care, not message volume. The next action may be education, scheduling support, clinical review or no additional outreach. Consent, contact limits and clinical escalation rules apply. The goal is clinically appropriate care continuation, including appropriate treatment pauses or discontinuation, rather than retention at any cost.
